Hi
I finally got around to setting up the ultragauge I bought from the manufacturer in the States. As usual, all the advice on here has been spot on. Thanks.
I'd like to see if someone can check what I have done.
For Trans Temp I put the PID in and seem to have the temp showing okay. I was a bit confused by the final code in the PID. The final entry is for Units (Deg.C) but the only place to enter this appears to be under Abbr2: at the top of the screen.
I used M Gauge 3 and left the blanks in front of the entry degC.
I then did the same for the entry for intercooler temp.

Is this right? or is there a different protocol when only entering 2 digits in a space that has room for more??
Attached a photo of the screen. Would hate to be getting an incorrect reading without knowing it.

Oh, I'm also a little confused about checking DPF burn temps. One post in here says use EGT11 another says EGT 13?

Thanks in advance??
Cheers

I think EGT13 is the one to monitor.

Thanks Ross. I was hoping you would answer. Much appreciated.

I think I've got it right. It seems like Abbr1: and Abbr2: don't effect the formula?? They just seem to be labels that appear on the page screen??

Am I right in thinking I can only create 8 mgauges to use or can I create 8 per page and page 1s will be saved if I change the PIDs for page 2??

My engine temp, trans temp, gear position all seem right but not sure if 271 is a proper reading for Torque Converter Slip at idle??

Slowly getting there, this site has walked me through quite a few bits and pieces, including forscan. Amazing stuff. Really helpful.

Can't thank you guys enough.

Cheers
Glenn

You only have 8 Mgauges available is correct.
Regarding T/C slip you will have to assume it's correct.
Just watch it when you drive, slip can get high.
All slip does is heat up the fluid and waste fuel.
If you want to study any particular PID turn off the pages you don't want to Auto page.

Thanks, looks like it's all working. Now I've just got to figure out what a reasonable intercooler temp is??
I want to monitor the temps a bit before having the trans serviced and getting a cooler fitted. Think I'll remove the thermostat, too. Need to find a good transmission guy and have a chat.

Thanks for your help.

Ambient would be a good Intercooler temp.

If you only want a 2 digit readout on the Trans temp change the Left/Right from 32 to 30

Ahhh, thanks for that. It's remarkable how I can enter stuff in and get it working but still have no idea what any of it means!!

My guess is 30 is 3 to the left of the decimal and 0 to the right
32 is 3 to the left, 2 to the right of the decimal.

Happy to be corrected
