Hi Stewart!

Just noticed that my steering angle values suddenly disappeared.

Things I done via Forscan,
1. Reset the error - something like a low voltage in module, forgot the exact code.
2. Reset PSCM module and run a service test. All pass good.
3. No error so far.

But still, values wont reappear and wont change even I move the steering wheel. I noticed that the motor won't stop giving assist too even at the end of the lock. This is porbably because the module is blind on the actual steering angle since it is stuck at 720degrees.

EDIT:
ABS_STEERING ANGLE VALUE works fine. Value is okay and calibrated.

Does ABS and PSCM use different str. angle sensors?

UPDATE:

Everything is fine now. The PSCM did a self-calibration after I reset the module.

Basically, you need to go straight and do 20kph for like 10seconds and the pscm will do self calibration of steering wheel angle.

In my understanding, it is verifying if the Steering wheel angle sensor is true by checking if all wheel speed sensor is same value and you get zero or minimal yaw movement, which both you will get zeroed in if your driving on a straight line.

All the learned values are reset including pull drift compensation and angle offset.

Glad it sorted itself.

Have had a similar issue but it comes good once you start driving.

I have this issue after replacing a steering rack, the SAS is stuck at -702 degrees when I turn the wheel. I can turn in both locks but when I try and drive I can't turn left, the wheel goes hard and wont turn.

Steering angle can be calibrated as there is a routine to do it.

I cannot answer if it is in Forscan for the PSCM or not as have not looked for it. If not the assumption is that it exists in the dealer tool.
