Where is this from? Battery voltage vs PCM or other module voltage.
They are two OBDLink iOS app SAE PIDs. I have subsequently also found "Battery voltage (Ford)" into the built-in PIDs.

The "control module voltage" seems to replicate the "Input voltage read by scan tool" with around 2 seconds delay. "Battery voltage (Ford)" does not seem to work.

I am trying to find the most significant PID to monitor battery voltage.

They constantly show zeroes on a digital displays.
Where did you get these from, what are they showing zero in?
These are also OBDLink iOS app SAE PIDs. I have created digital dials in the app showing their value. I was wondering if they could show when a DPF regen is being performed, and the adblue level.

The one in your last post works. Just wondering if the different number in the equation is correct as it is different between the two?

No PID for battery state of charge?


I have also found some very interesting custom PIDs in the custom built-in Ford PIDs: Current Gear, Torque converter slip, Torque converter temp, accel pedal position, fan speed, engine oil temperature, steering wheel angle. But none of them seem to work on a obdlink app gauge. I must be doing something wrong.

Can you tell me the link where I posted the non working code so I can amend it.

It would not work.as the header is wrong. I also need to check my math. Not sure what I did there.

Just because an extended PID is in OBDlink or other does not mean the vehicle supports it. It is a generic list.

There were also pids that I found that had no relevance to any list in any programs.

Being as we don't have an engine fan then that would be why. We also do not have the appropriate engine oil temp sensor nor torque converter temp sensor. Steering angle is a different PID from memory to the standard list.

The PIDS that are supported are all in Forscan. If you find something specific you want to monitor then let me know and when I have time I will sort it.

I meant to type transmission fluid temp, not torque converter temp, my mistake.

I assumed the fan speed relates to the radiator fan, isn't that the case?

The pids i would like to log are these below. I've included for completeness the ones that are already listed in the OBDLink app but I have not tried yet.

Battery voltage - there are three of these (see previous posts) which one is more representative?
Battery state of charge
Battery current in/out

Transmission fluid temperature (built in one does not work)
Torque converter slip (built in one does not work)
Fan speed (built in one does not work)

Wheel speed at each wheel (to monitor wheel spin)

Just watch the EGT, When it jumps up around 600º, then its doing a burn.

Pitch and roll will work as the info is coming from the device and not the vehicle.
Bearing, Altitude, GPS stuff if existing will just be using the devices information, not the vehicles.

Bearing I pull from the APIM as with GPS speed although GPS speed update is to slow to update to be useful. Lat and Long, APIM also but the calcs are pretty out there and I'm not happy with them.

This should give you the gear you are in. (1 to 6) not reverse, neutral etc.

Header: 7E1

Ranger and I would also assume the Everest has a viscous fan so there is no electric motor hence why you will never get a speed.

I cannot remember if the vehicle has individual PIDS per wheel sensor, I will have to check. If it does you would have to calculate one PID again another to see a value you want. The best option is visual, the orange light starts flicking on the dash.

Steering angle, it is displayed on your 4wd gauge in the cluster.

DPF as stated, monitor the 3 EGT sensors in the DPF and you will know.

Thanks for the gear PID.

I know that I can read most of the parameters on a display already, the reason why I'm looking for the associated PID's is because I want to log them, and also being able to see them all at the same time on one single screen, without having to flick between displays while I'm on three wheels in deep ruts.

I also know that I have a ESP warning light, but that tells me that one or more wheels are spinning which is rather obvious to the ears, the actually useful information I am after is an indication of WHICH wheel is spinning, comparing wheel speeds in relation to each other.

I have a feeling that the pitch, roll and GPS data are from the car not the device (the everest has pitch and roll sensors), but will check again reading the values with a laptop which does not have these sensors to make sure.

HI Stewart,

Are there any custom PIDS for exhaust gas, EGR or Catalyst temps on the PX2? All the SAE PIDS seem to be duds.

I did find an EGR valve PID somewhere that worked. I’ll take a look tomorrow.

Actual EGR A duty cycle / position in the SAE PIDs seems to be working. Also found in another post no exhaust temps on the MY16

I created a CSV which I saved on my phone, this loads directly into OBDLink+ and saves the onerous task of manually entering all of the PIDs. They are the same ones you can get from the calculator at the start of this thread.

1. Download the attached zip and extract the CSV.

2. Save the CSV in the top directory on your Android device (lots of different ways to get files onto devices).
3. In the app go to Settings->User Defined PIDS, and the three dot menu at top right corner, select Import from file.
4. Tick the PIDS you want in the list it gives.

Hi and yes, there is a PID available for that.

In the PID calculator select your dongle type then DPF Soot Blockage.

Well, soot and ash are two different things. :)
When soot burns, it forms ash...

Soot PID was the first one I found actually, and it is really good.

See if exists for a start. You can monitor an enormous amount of PIDs in Forscan and if it is there then request and I shall look into it. If it is not there then it does not exit as a PID.

Hi guys, for my EGR open % I'm getting a 4 digit number then the decimal. How do i make it a two digit number?
