EGRT would definitely show the increased temp from a burn due to the sensor being on the exhaust manifold. Basically pre everything.

I tried EGRT but couldn't get a reading from it.
I also looked at EGT-13 last week and it certainly shows when DPF burn off's happens as it spikes of up over 700 degrees for a few minutes, but is otherwise fairly stable. I don't see the point in monitoring DPF-13 ongoing (unless you want to see when burn off's happen) as the DPF is masking the true temps of the exhaust gasses.
I think for now I'll monitor EGT-12. It's not as volatile as EGT-11 so won't show immediate reactive spikes to throttle input. It should still give a good indication of general temps though as it is still pre-DPF and still appears to rise considerably when under sustained load.

Hi
Anyone get the Alternator working with scanguage, on an Everest(mines the 2018 UA).
I've input all the right settings, I just get 0.0 amps
Also for SOC, on the Everest, I just get a reading of 6, is there something I've missed there?
Thanks

2.0 or 3.2 are you using the correct PID, there is one for each.
SOC I expect them to be identical PIDs as identical BCMs. Check settings or post screen shots of each screen.

Hi Stewart,
Mine is the 3.2, I’ll try the 2 settings just to try something tomorrow
I’ll take some screen shots of my scan guage settings too.
Thanks for responding.

2.0 will not work.
Both are correct so there is no reason for them not to work unless the are entered incorrectly or hardware has been removed from the vehicle which I would find odd.

Hi Stewart,
Well checked and rechecked the settings for the Alternator current, fo rmy 3.2 Everest, still just showed 0.0.
So for a laugh I used the 2.0 settings, and lo and behold, its working. Must be somethign differnet in the Everest versus Ranger?
Mine is a March 2018 UA model.
SOC I got working, I had one digit out.
What it does show is the batteyr is at about 83 percent SOC, I might see if I can get the smart alternator mode turned off, ive already killed the OEM battery.
Thanks for help, will be interested on comments on the Alternator settings.

3 years is about right for these batteries.
PM me your VIN, wouldn't mind seeing more details as to why it is using 2.0 settings.
75% is min so 83% is fair on most batteries, you can bump it up to 100% but depending on how much you drive you may never see 100% SOC.

How do you bump it up?
Do I need your adaptor etc?
Never done any of the forscan stuff, although I used to program in machine language many many years ago

85% is fine and above normal. Battery monitoring will aim to keep it around 75% most of the time.
Yes, you would need and adaptor, they are in the store wp/

Ok, I’ll leave it for now.
But I’ll get an adapter off your store after my next trip just after Easter.
Thanks for your help.
I’ll send you my vin via pm too so you check it out.
Really weird my late model UA Everest in regard to the alternator scan guage settings.

Alternator current draw PID
Looked further. Seems on a 3.2 that both PIDs exist.
I recommend everyone move across the 0551 PID ( Generator/Alternator Current Sensor A - Corrected ) .
D113 - 3.2L only. I have removed from the database.
0551 - Corrected output. 2.0L and 3.2L
Please check the calculator for the correct maths for both of these PIDs.
I had an error for ALL DEVICES math on 2.0L/3.2L - Check and re enter.

What I noticed with the 2.0 Alternator code, its reading, but didn't seem to be accurate, i.e. I have the battery in/out current working, and (for some reason) my SOC dropped to 50 overnight) so when I went out todaym the battey amps were approx 50, where as the alternator current was shgowing 5.4
probably just the maths,.

so I've updated the PID in my scanguage,
Battery was showing 22 amps in, Alt was showing 4.5
On the origiinal 3.2 MTH setting, it was 000100020000. On the original 2.0 setting I thought it was 000100640000.
But now the calc says for MTH 00010040000.
Is that right?
It seems the alternator reading is low.

Normal math is
D113 - Output X 1 / 20
20 hex = 32. Hence the change to 14 hex = 20
SG was the only one I had entered wrong in the case, the rest were correct.
0551 - Output X 1 / 64
40 hex = 64. Before I had entered 64 hex which would equal / 100
Scangauge and Ultragauge use hex. Torque, OBDlink etc use decimal. Documents show dec figures and not hex figures.
Basically I had the correct data but had a brain fade when entering.
End of the day anyone using the 2.0L PID on any device was seeing low figures and anyone using 3.2L PID on a Scangauge only were seeing high figures.
As I only changed the maths then D113 should still not work for you unless you entered it wrong in the first place.

Ok, Understand,
so D113 still doesnt work as you expected.
but with 000100400000 in the MTH, I seem too low. I'll see if I can get a clamp metere somewhere to see if I can clarify.
either that or my battery In/Out is off, but I've rechecked the inputs to the scan guage. I'll recheck again.

Old 3.2 setting had the Alternator Current output
TXD RXF RXD MTH UNITS

TXD RXF RXD MTH UNITS
07E0220551 046285050651 3010 000100400000 Ampere
only thing I not sure on, is for the MTH settings, the postion of the 2 or the 4. i.e 000100020000 versus 000100400000
Can you confirm?
Thanks

Would have been X 1 / 2. This is incorrect. It's plausible the only reason I may have done it this way is if I want to drop a zero 2 instead of 20.
I don't have Scangauge with me and will not be back until Tuesday so will compare with my ultragauge then.
0462 8505 0651 . The 8 in this location may have been a division so I could well have dropped 0, I do not have my Scangauge info with me.
If you think it is low then change this 8 is both PIDs to a 0

I hope you can see something when you test with your scan guage.
Oh I wish I'd bought the Ultra guage

Ok, old issue with the D113 was is was divided by 2 instead of 20 so I made up for it with decimals. Although it was very very close it should never have had decimals from the start.aussie_flyer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 4:15 pm Old 3.2 setting had the Alternator Current output

So to clarify old an new, keeping that the old D113 has been removed from newer PCM calibrations so is redundant.
Old should have been.
TXD RXF RXD MTH UNITS
07E022D113 046205D10613 3010 000100140000 Ampere Maths would be 1/20
New is and is called - Generator/Alternator Current Sensor A - Corrected
TXD RXF RXD MTH UNITS
07E0220551 046205050651 3010 000100400000 Ampere - Note 5th character in RXD position 5 Maths would be 1/64
First PID on each device is D113 and second is 0551
