Note the above contains all HEX that is transmitted and received. SG and UG do not need 2 bytes from those lines and they are calculated internally.

Sorry I did not write down what the actual temp was but pretty sure it was 16-17 degrees celcius.

As you can see there is only 1 byte changing value - HEX 46 to 47. If you look straight up you will see where I got the HEX 30 from and then 1 byte is HEX 08 hence 3008.

I do not have a scangauge so let me know the out come.

Format does not appear to be working. I will do one in a table when I get a chance so you can see the relation properly.

No, it didn't work Stewart - no response in Scangauge. But it certainly displays in Forscan, so it has to be there... somewhere. I'll see if I can fry my brain and try to get my head around all those bytes in your post above... LOL

Use RXF 046205050622 which is what I actually expected it to be.

You will get a reading, 34 HEX may change. Mine is reading 14 on the UG which is about right. I will monitor more tomorrow.

I have most of it sussed, but the RXD 3008 has me a bit stumped (pun intended 8-) )... although the 08 (1 byte) I get.
As you can see there is only 1 byte changing value - HEX 46 to 47. If you look straight up you will see where I got the HEX 30 from and then 1 byte is HEX 08 hence 3008.
Now, Hex 30 equates to 48 bits, or 6 bytes and is the offset value... right?
However, I count 7 bytes before reaching the data we want. Knowing that the first byte (07) is an offset value, do we then ignore this and count only 6 bytes of offset into the data string?

Because is starts at 00 not 08 as per that doc you read. Look at the RXD offset above 00,08,10,18,20 etc.

My brain is 100% fluent with PID to SG and UG now.

You know that last night I was dreaming HEX. Without a joke it's true. There was some code I wanted to go through and confirm today that I was dreaming about last night and well it all worked and come true. Crappy nights sleep though..........

I will pm you a spreadsheet tomorrow and it will all make sense.

Duhhhh!!! of course! :?

Been a looooong time since I messed around in hex. Late 70's - early 90's I reckon when I was programming a Commodore 64 in assembler for the 6502 chip. Created a whole Bulletin Board back then - remember them - 300 baud acoustically coupled? Nah... showing my age now LOL

I may not be as old Gerry but 34 years ago I received my first computer from when my Dad was working for the banks. I'm sure it cost a bundle too. All I wanted was more speed and more RAM. I hacked that thing to death.

Hi Stewart,
Do you know where this sensor is located? Does it measure the fuel temp of the fuel returning from the fuel filter or does it measure the temp of the fuel in the tank?

Hi Rick,

This should help.

Connector C1259, it appears to be on the supply after the filter.

Also fuel does not return to the tank if it is below approx 30 degrees, it will continue to cycle. Once above 30 a valve on the filter opens to allow fuel to cycle through to the tank. This is done to help prevent waxing.

Afternoon saeb (Stewart),

I was browsing a caravan thread, which put me onto this forum (funnily enough I had registered years ago).

Anyway, long story short I am having an issue when towing a heavy load on a hot day - the power seems to drop dramatically.

I replaced the Viscous hub, which fixed the temperature gauge (in the dash) from going into the red.

The thread referred to above suggested a similar issue related to fuel temperature and/or lines.

Is there any chance you know how to put the following

I had a similar thing happen but believe it may have been intercooler or trans temp related.
Make sure you monitor those as well.....
