Issue: Some 2015-2018 Ranger and Everest vehicles built up to 10-Feb-2018 equipped with ACC may experience an intermittent loss of pre-collision alert and C-CM with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3000:49 present.

Action: Should a vehicle present with the above condition, technicians are advised to follow the Service Procedure below.

Service Procedure

1. Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) to the vehicle.

2. Using IDS release 109.01 or higher, select Toolbox> Data logger> Modules> C-CM and select the following PID’s:

•SatTunFreqFltB6B – (Saturated Tuning Frequency Fault),
•LpBdwdOutRagB6B7 – (Loop Bandwidth Out-of-Range),
•SerEEPROMFltB7B2 – (Serial EEPROM Fault),
•NoCommARMFltB7B6 – (No Communication with ARM Fault).
3. Did any of the above PIDs return a ‘Fault’ status?

(1). No - this TSB does not apply - Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 419-03 for normal diagnostics/repair.

(2). Yes - continue with this TSB.

4. Connect an external power supply to the vehicle.

5. Select Toolbox> Module Programming> Module Reprogramming>C-CM.

6. Follow the onscreen instructions and update to EB3T-9G768-AG or later.

7. Exit module reprogramming.

8. Select Self Test> All CMDTCs.

9. Erase all DTC’s created during module reprogramming.

10. Exit self test.

11. Select Module programming> As-Built> C-CM.

12. Follow the onscreen instructions.

•When asked by IDS “Were you directed here from another procedure such as Programmable Module installation or Module Reprogramming to obtain part numbers?” - Select NO,
•IDS will provide 2 options for entering the as-built data into the C-CM module Manual or Automatic. Select Automatic.
13. Switch ignition OFF. Leave the ignition in the OFF position for 3-5 minutes. This will ensure that the C-CM will power down allowing the C-CM to fully reset.

14. Perform the Adaptive Cruise Control Service Function.

15. Select Toolbox> Electrical> Cruise Control> CCM Calibration.

•Follow the onscreen instructions to complete adaptive cruise control service function.
16. Exit CCM Calibration.

17. Road-test the vehicle for functionality of ACC.

NOTE: Ensure road testing is conducted in a safe manner.

18. Select Self Test> All CMDTCs.

•Ensure no DTC’s have developed.
19. Exit self test.
