https://www.12volt.solutions/

These guys (based in the USA) have a massive range of modules for various vehicles. Whilst Ranger is not included, there are some non-US vehicles such as Transit (I know from speaking to people through work that the systems in Transit are pretty similar to Ranger).

I've emailed them to ask the question, knowing they'll come back with "sorry we've never tested it" but I was worth a try - They may yet surprise me.

I'm particularly interested in the remote start module that starts the car when you hit the keyfob lock 3 times.

I've seen youtube videos of people stealing cars by doing something with the OBDII port and their module plugs in there so I assume its using the same principle to start the vehicle.

Anyone given one of these a try?

I have actually and most were tested but not adaptable to or European based vehicle electrics.

I will be blowing some dust off some of them again soon.

They responded to my email asking for photos of the back of the OBDII port and the headlight switch (???). I sent these and some snippets from a wiring diagram that I had laying around.

I await their response.

UPDATE:

They have failed to respond to my emails and dont return my calls so I assume that means they're not interested in supplying anything for the PX Ranger. Meanwhile I did find an auto electrician in NSW that had fitted it running, required multiple software updates and fixes from the US and he still doesnt know how he ever got it going.

I'm going to give this one a miss!

I have tried calling them but no dice with any reply. I ordered a StartX module for f-150 2015-2019 to try on my 18 Wildtrak (EU) when I programmed the module it does all the clicking but it doesn’t start. I’m thinking I have to enable something with FORScan to make it work

What happens on the dash/cluster if you sit in the car and try to remote start?

Nothing should happen, the cluster should stay black.

I do have remote start working, factory remote start. Still in testing as it was a 3 year process but everything so far is working perfectly and as per factory. To cold, then heater and seats come on, to hot and aircon will come on.

I do not believe any manual Ford has ever had remote start.

More will follow for the Ranger and remote start when I get some further pricing back. Install will most likely be at BPT in Perth and Seaford in Melbourne at this stage.

Pending pricing, I'll be taking mine to BPT as soon as they're ready for me.

Mine is an automatic. Nothing happens to the screen, I get like a clicking noise but just nothing. I was thinking about getting the keys with the remote start button from the US and maybe that should work. Any help would be greatly appreciate guys. Btw I live in Switzerland so it would be kinda difficult to get to Perth
